what is rabbit OS3?
rabbit OS3 brings OS3 to r1, giving you a native physical way to reach the same broader agent system you can use through the web and other supported channels.
what makes OS3 different from a normal ai chat?
A model is only one part of OS3. OS3 adds persistent memory and context, skills, local computer execution through rabbit agent, multiple connected computers and different ways to reach the same broader system.
do I need a perfect prompt?
No. Start with what you're trying to understand, make, decide or finish. It does not need to be polished or complete. OS3 can help turn an incomplete thought into a useful next step.
what does "start with the thought" mean?
It means you don't need to decide which model, computer, tool or workflow should handle something before you ask. Start with the outcome or idea, then let the work expand as needed.
what does "you are the settings" mean?
You can shape how OS3 works with you through conversation. If you want shorter responses, a different tone or a different way of handling follow-up work, tell it. Those preferences can become part of the ongoing context around your work.
models and BYOK
why does OS3 use BYOK?
BYOK gives you freedom over the model underneath your work. Models change quickly, and different models can be better suited to different tasks, budgets and preferences. OS3 is designed so choosing different supported intelligence doesn't require your entire way of working to start again.
what does BYOK mean?
Bring your own key. You connect an API key from a supported model provider and use that provider for model access.
can I use any ai model?
OS3 works with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, Ollama Cloud, Z.ai, Moonshot, MiniMax, xAI and OpenCode Go, with a model running on one of your own connected computers, and with any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. The list can change as models evolve; see how to bring your own key for the current one.
can I change model providers?
Yes. Add a key from another provider in settings → api keys, then choose which key each tier uses. You can keep keys from more than one provider at once — for example, a cheaper model for lighter work and a stronger one for everything else. OS3 uses the key you chose for each tier; it does not switch providers on its own.
do I lose my OS3 memory if I change models?
Your OS3 working environment is separate from the individual model underneath it. Changing a supported model does not mean rebuilding your OS3 memory, skills, connected computers and way of working from scratch.
can I use a local model?
Yes. A computer you have connected with rabbit agent can serve a model to OS3 — for example through Ollama or LM Studio — instead of a cloud provider. See how to bring your own key for how to set it up.
rabbit agent and connected computers
what is rabbit agent?
rabbit agent is the local worker installed on a computer you connect to OS3. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and works primarily through that computer's terminal, allowing it to use supported local files, tools and commands when you ask it to perform work there. what is a node?
A node is a computer you've chosen to connect to OS3 using rabbit agent.
can OS3 use more than one computer?
Yes. You can register up to 20 computers on one account, and one request or project can make use of more than one of them.
what is multi-node?
Multi-node means one OS3 project can put multiple connected computers to useful work on the same outcome instead of requiring you to operate each one separately.
why connect my own computer instead of using a cloud computer?
Your real computer already contains the files, tools, software and environment you use. rabbit agent lets OS3 work with a computer you choose to connect instead of requiring all of your work to begin inside a separate empty machine.
does rabbit agent run locally?
Yes. rabbit agent executes locally on the computer you connect. OS3 itself is a hybrid system and also uses cloud services and the model provider you selected.
does connecting rabbit agent upload my whole computer to rabbit?
No. Connecting a node does not mean rabbit automatically copies your computer or all of its files into the cloud. OS3 works with the computers and relevant files you choose to use for a task.
when does OS3 ask before doing something?
You decide. settings → permissions is where you choose when OS3 should check with you before acting for you, and sensitive or irreversible actions ask for confirmation. You can change or withdraw a permission at any time.
can I close the tab while OS3 is working?
Yes. A longer task you have already asked for can carry on after you close the tab, and settings → activity shows the background agents OS3 has run for you. Work running on a connected computer needs that computer to stay on and connected.
can OS3 use my other apps?
Yes, through connected apps. You can also ask OS3 to connect one. They run on a computer you have connected, and when an app asks you to sign in, you can do it from any device; the sign-in is saved on that computer. When a task needs to drive something on screen instead, OS3 can use DLAM with your permission.
ways to reach OS3
can I use OS3 without r1?
Yes. OS3 can be used in a browser or in the OS3 desktop app for macOS and Windows. r1 is an additional native physical channel into the same broader system.
is the desktop app the same as rabbit agent?
No. The desktop app is OS3 itself, in its own window instead of a browser tab. rabbit agent is the separate program that lets OS3 work on a computer. On macOS or Windows, once you sign in, the desktop app installs rabbit agent and connects that computer automatically, unless you turn this off in the app's menu.
what does r1 do with OS3?
r1 gives you a direct physical way to reach OS3. You can press, speak naturally and start or check work without needing to open the full web workspace.
OS3 can also build r1 creations — small apps that run on r1 — and install them on your linked device. Your r1's device settings, including linking, lost mode, r1 media, creations, magic gallery, retro mode, third-party agents, magic voice and developer mode, are in OS3 under settings → r1. allow third-party agents on r1 lets rabbit agent on your computer run Claude Code, Hermes and OpenClaw for your r1; it is on unless you turn it off. what is retro mode?
Retro mode hands your r1 back to the classic rabbit assistant. While it is on, r1 answers with the classic assistant instead of OS3, OS3 does not speak on the device, and intern and creation requests from r1 do not run. OS3 keeps working in the browser. are my web, Telegram and r1 chats identical?
No. They can have separate conversation histories while drawing on the same OS3 memory and relevant context.
can I use OS3 through Telegram?
Yes. Telegram is an additional supported channel for interacting with OS3 when you are away from the main web workspace. Pair your bot in settings → channels.
can I text OS3 from my phone?
Yes. You can chat with OS3 in Messages, by iMessage, RCS or SMS. Set it up in settings → channels.
can OS3 make phone calls?
Yes, OS3 can call people for you. It needs your own OpenAI key and project ID for that, set up in settings → channels.
skills
what is a skill?
A skill is a reusable capability or workflow that extends what OS3 can do.
can I use skills from other agent systems?
Yes. When you connect a computer, OS3 looks for the coding agents already installed on it — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenClaw, Hermes and Cursor among them — and offers to bring each one over. Importing converts that agent's skills into OS3 skills and carries its standing instructions across as part of your profile. You choose which to bring and which to leave, and the import reads no credentials and takes no transcripts. Other third-party skills may vary in compatibility and should be checked individually.
rabbit intern and creations
what happened to rabbit intern?
rabbit intern is no longer being offered as a standalone public product. specialist capabilities developed through intern can continue as part of rabbit's broader OS3 experience. On r1, the intern buttons now hand your request to OS3, which needs your OS3 account set up and a connected computer online.
what happens to existing creations?
Existing creations remain available, and OS3 now builds new ones: describe the app you want to OS3 or to your r1, and OS3 builds it with your own key on a connected computer, then hosts it and installs it on your linked r1 once you approve. See how to use r1 creations. retiring rabbit intern as a standalone public product does not mean existing creation content is being removed. the creations gallery shows a curated selection rather than everything made, so to get a complete copy of your own tasks and artifacts, export your data.
pricing
how much does OS3 cost?
OS3 is free. You pay the model provider you choose according to that provider's own API pricing.
why isn't model usage included in a subscription?
BYOK keeps the model relationship under your control. You choose the supported provider and model setup that makes sense for your needs and pay that provider directly.

how do I get rabbit OS3?
OS3 is available now. Start on the web at os3.rabbit.tech: log in or create a rabbit account, and finish setup in a single conversation.
There is no update to wait for and nothing to install on the device. Once your account is set up on the web, OS3 is active on your r1 — press the button and speak to it. You can follow each release on the updates page.
