rabbit agent is a small program you install on a computer so OS3 can work on it. A computer with rabbit agent installed and paired to your account is called a node. OS3 can then use the files, tools and software already on that machine, with your approval, instead of starting from an empty cloud environment.
rabbit agent runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and works on machines you own as well as cloud machines you control.
how to connect a computer
- In OS3, open settings → rabbit agents.
- Choose register rabbit agent. OS3 shows a registration token and two install commands.
- Copy the command for your platform — Windows (PowerShell) or macOS / Linux — and run it on the computer you want to connect.
- The computer appears in the list once it has paired.
Registration tokens expire. If yours runs out before you use it, start the registration again for a fresh one.
managing your computers
- Rename a computer so you can tell your machines apart.
- Set a default so OS3 knows where to send work when you have not said which machine to use.
- Delete a computer to unpair it. There is a limit on how many you can have registered at once, so delete one before adding another if you hit it.
what OS3 can and cannot do on a connected computer
OS3 works primarily through the computer's terminal, using supported local files, tools and commands. When a task needs a graphical application instead, OS3 can use DLAM to drive the screen, with your permission.
A connected computer has to be on and connected to the internet for OS3 to use it. A task that is running there stops if the machine sleeps or drops off the network.
rabbit agent runs locally. OS3 as a whole is a hybrid system: it also uses rabbit's own services and the model provider you chose. Connecting a computer does not mean rabbit automatically copies that computer or all of its files into the cloud — OS3 works with the computers and relevant files you choose to use for a task.
