Your r1 is linked to a rabbit account, and you manage that link in OS3 under settings → r1. That one tab holds everything to do with the device: linking, lost mode, magic gallery, magic voice and developer mode.
Only the linking controls appear before a device is linked. The rest of the tab appears once one is.
how to link your r1
- Open OS3 and go to settings → r1.
- Under device you will see no r1 linked. Choose link r1.
- OS3 generates a linking passcode and shows it as a QR code.
- On your r1, go to the activate screen and scan the QR code. If the camera will not read it, enter the passcode on the device by hand instead.
This is the same step you go through when setting up a new r1, and it is how you re-link a device you have unlinked.
how to unlink your r1
- Open OS3 and go to settings → r1.
- Choose unlink r1 and confirm.
Unlinking does not factory reset the device. If you want the data held on the r1 itself removed — because you are selling it, returning it, or passing it on — factory reset it before you unlink. You will also need to set the device up from the beginning next time you use it.
if your r1 is lost
In the same r1 tab, choose mark device as lost.
- Your r1 is remotely disabled.
- You can add an email address and a phone number, which are shown on the lost device's screen so whoever finds it can reach you. Both are optional.
- When it turns up, come back to the same place to re-enable it.

common questions
does unlinking delete my account or my data?
No. Unlinking separates the device from the account. Your account and its data stay as they are. To remove those, see how to export or delete your rabbit data.
does a factory reset unlink my r1?
If the r1 is online when you factory reset it, it unlinks automatically. If it is offline, unlink it manually using the steps above.
why can I not see magic gallery or magic voice?
Those controls only appear once a device is linked. Link your r1 first.
I bought a used r1 and it is still linked to someone else.
