If you decide to resell or return your rabbit r1, you should do a factory reset to wipe your device. A factory reset will delete all content, information, and settings from your r1.
This article provides instructions on how to perform a local factory reset on your rabbit r1. You can also learn how to delete your rabbithole account in another article.
Tip: Returned devices are wiped and reset as part of our official process.
How to perform a factory reset
Follow the steps below to factory reset your r1.
- Open the settings menu in one of the following ways:
- From your r1’s home screen, swipe up or scroll up with the scroll wheel and select the settings card
- You can also swipe down from the top of any screen to access the quick settings screen, and then tap the gear icon to open settings
- Select device
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and select factory reset, and then tap continue
- When prompted, enter your passcode and then tap the check mark
- Your device will automatically factory reset after 5 seconds
Tip: Tap back at the top left of the screen within 5 seconds if you decide to cancel the factory reset.
Note: Unlinking your device in rabbithole is not the same as a factory reset.
Will a factory reset automatically unlink my rabbit r1?
If your r1 is connected to the internet when you perform a factory reset, your device will automatically unlink from your rabbithole account. If rabbithole still shows your r1 is linked, refresh the page.
If your r1 is not connected to the internet, you will need to manually unlink your device in rabbithole.
