- Go to your rabbithole account and log in
- Click settings on the top menu bar
- In the menu on the left, select developer
- After reading the warning and note under the enable developer mode section, type the following message into the acknowledgement text box: I acknowledge that the warranty on my rabbit r1 is permanently void once it is put in developer mode.
- Enter your device IMEI
- Click the button that says "void warranty and enable developer mode"
Tip: You can find the IMEI of your r1 on the about screen in the settings menu.

After you have followed the steps above to put your r1 in developer mode, use the following steps to unlock the bootloader.
- Make sure your r1 is powered on and connected to the internet
- Log in to your rabbithole account
- Open the settings page
- Find device modification in the developer section and click unlock
- You can now use a tool like the Rabbit R1 Flash Tool to put your r1 in fastboot mode
- Once your r1 is in fastboot mode, you can unlock the bootloader
